|Attractions & Art|
|When most people think of New Orleans, they think mostly about the French Quarter, which is most
definitely unique with it's magnificent 17th Century architecture and history of being one of the oldest city in the US, however
has so much more to offer sometimes just steps off the "beaten path"!
|World class Museums like the newly expanded
National World War II Museum,
the Ogden Museum of Southern Art,
Contemporary Arts Museum,
as well as a world-class Zoo and
Aquarium in Audobon Park
The Insectarium, the only museum/exhibit of it's kind in the world, on the Canal Street side of the French Quarter.
Who Dat! Watch a Saints game at the Superdome nearby. Maybe some Gaming at Harrah's, only a few blocks away.
|Art Galleries thoughout both in the French Quarter, like Dutch Alley an artist's co-operative where artists live & work, or the many Art Galleries in the Warehouse/Arts District, only a few short blocks from The Green House Inn.|
|Into history? The Plantations
all along River Road north of New Orleans, are only about an hour from the Inn or hop
on the 100 year old Natchez Paddle Steamboat for a ride up the Mississippi from foot of the French Quarter.
Feeling adventurous? See "gators" in their natural habitat, again only about 35 minutes from New Orleans,
maybe a Voodoo, Ghost, Haunted Places or tour of New Orleans unique cemetaries or see where
the famous Mardi Gras floats are built, is more to your liking.
The interesting sights of New Orleans and it's surrounding area are endless and it's all easily accessible from
The Green House Inn. Be sure to visit the Tourism Office at 2020 St. Charles Avenue where the staff is
knowledgeable and the free brochures are plentiful.
|Restaurants, Bars & Music Venues|

|New Orleans has long been world renown for it's food, with it's unique local Creole and Cajun influence, as
having the most abundant resource of natural safe seafood in the US. In the past few years, New Orleans has
also garnered a reputation as one of the top "Fine Dining" cities in the world, always with that unique N'Awlins "touch".
Some of those Fine Dining restaurants such as Herbsaint, Couchon, Emeril's Delmonico,
to name a few, are within easy walking distance of the The Green House Inn. Or hop on the historic
St. Charles St. streetcar for a short ride through the Garden District, with it's magnificient mansions to the
world renowned Commander's Palace.
|There is also a plethora of easily affordable fun/funky/unique local dining experiences readily available such
as BonTon, Voodoo BBQ, or 100 year old Mother's, home of the famed "Ferdi Po Boy" sandwich as well as one
of the best full breakfast/brunch cafe's in New Orleans, Surrey's, just down the block from The Green House Inn.
|New Orlean's reputation for Bars is legendary and most have live music! As someone once said
"You know you're in a party town when they name the streets after alcohol". The Bridge Lounge, where dogs are
welcome and the Mojitos flow, is directly across the street from The Green House Inn with many others nearby.
|There are many other wonderful restaurants & Bars within easy walking distance of
The Green House Inn,
