Oooh, we know this isn’t the fun part but we have to have this to cover our rear ends (and since we are clothing optional….). Bear with us. We have to write this stuff.


Our rates vary, depending upon room, room location, season, holidays, special events and length of stay. Rates can change without notice and are subject to availability. Please consult us for the exact room rates for your dates. All taxes and fees are in addition to the quoted room rates. Our seasons are:

High Season = Spring & Fall
Shoulder Season = Winter
Low Season = Summer (come join us: it’s HOT).

We offer a weekly discount of 10%, as well as special discounts throughout the year, subject to availability. Please contact us for both weekly and monthly stay discounts. Jesse, Frank or another staff member will give you our best rate for your particular needs.


To confirm your room, we require a deposit of one night’s room and tax. During special events, holidays and for groups we require one-third or 100% of your stay. Please call us to inquire about specific deposits for your room.

Please make your final payment by check-in (except for special events, holidays, and groups which is due 60 days in advance of arrival).

Minimum Stay

Hey, New Orleans is a pretty high demand place for travelers (we reached an all-time record last year for visitors). That said, on weekends (Friday and Saturday) there is a minimum two night stay.

During special events and holidays, the minimum stay requirement may be longer (i.e. Jazz Fest, etc) so please check our online reservation form for availability and stay requirement. Or give us a holler and we’ll figure it out in real time with a real person (“Hello? Frank?”).


It’s pretty standard to consider groups as occupying three rooms or more. In this case, one-third (1/3) deposit is required to confirm your group reservation; the balance is due 60 days before you arrive. Sorry but there are no refunds for group reservations. Please make your group reservations directly with the Inn (“Frank? Is Frank there?”).

Cancellation Policies

All cancellations must be in writing or via email. A $35.00 cancellation fee applies to all reservations. Cancellations can be made 15 days or more before check-in date to receive a refund of the deposit minus a $35.00 cancellation fee. (Wow. That was a lot to squeeze in a simple sentence).

Reservations cancelled 14 days or less before check-in date forfeit their deposit.

We’re sorry but we can’t refund cancelled reservations for special events, holidays, and groups. Please check with the Inn for policies about your specific stay.



New Orleans enjoys a balmy, semi-tropical climate most of the year; however some years there are hurricane threats, usually in late summer. If the National Weather Service declares a hurricane warning for New Orleans and you cancel your reservation within the cancellation period due to this warning or a hurricane, we will not refund your deposit; we will hold your deposit as a credit for a future booking within one year from the date of your originally scheduled arrival. There are no refunds due to other weather.

Early Check Outs

There is no refund if you check out earlier than the number of days reserved at the time of booking.

Payment Methods

We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Card, Travelers Checks and cash. We do not accept personal or business checks. Payment is due in full at time of check-in.


Check-in time is 3:00PM. Check-out time is 12:00 noon. If arriving later than 7:00PM or earlier than 3:00PM, please call us in advance to make special arrangements. We want to be on hand to greet you; however, since our desk is not staffed full time (Hey, Frank has a life beyond our green walls, you know) knowing your arrival time is important. We can always hold you luggage if needed.

Arrival Times

Your expected/estimated arrival time is necessary for us to confirm your reservation. Kindly let us know if that changes en route so that we can make every effort for someone to be on hand to welcome you. We will hold your room up to two hours after the arrival time you’ve given us; after this period your reservation may be cancelled and you may be considered a no show and forfeit your deposit. So please do keep us informed en route.


All of our rooms include deluxe king beds with private bathrooms with showers. We do not have any rooms with separate beds. The number of guests in any room is limited to two persons. Assigned rooms may be changed at the sole discretion of The Green House Inn and will only occur if the requested room is not available due to unforeseen circumstances. So, while we cannot guarantee specific room requests, we will always try to give you the best available room, at your rate, at the time of check in.

Please be aware that we are an old (but beautiful! We are not ageist) house and as such there is no elevator.

Age Restrictions

The Green House Inn is an adult only resort accommodation, therefore we are unable to accommodate children. Guests must be 18 or older. Government issued ID may be required at time of check in.


The Green House Inn’s rooms and interior are SMOKE-FREE. Smoking is allowed only by the pool and in the gardens.


The Green House Inn allows pets (dogs and cats only) with advanced notice reservations. We limit the number of pets at any one time. There is a $25 fee for each pet staying in the room. Reservations for guests traveling with pets must be made directly with us over the phone. The care, feeding, walking and behavior of your pet is your responsibility. A maximum of two pets per room, please. Pets are not allowed to run free and must be on a leash at all times outside the guest room and they must be walked off premises. A lovely park, Coliseum Square, is two blocks away. Pets are expected to be under a flea prevention program and kept clean. They are not allowed in or near the pool. If a pet is noisy, destructive or disturbs others, you may be asked to leave without a refund out of deference to our other guests. A mobile phone number is required, so that we can contact you during your stay, if necessary.

Guests are liable for any actions or damages by their pets.

Special Needs

Special needs, such as floor levels, tour arrangements, etc. can only be handled with special attention by calling us at the The Green House Inn in advance.

Garden & Swimming Pool

The Green House Inn pool and hot tub is a relaxed attitude/clothing optional area. Guests are asked to be respectful of others here. All guests are asked to be quiet between 10 PM and 10 AM when outside in the garden, pool or hot tub, so as not to disturb other guests. Pretty standard politeness is expected. No glass or bottles are allowed by the pool. Since we have no lifeguard on duty, diving is not permitted.

Gated (Off Street) Parking

The Green House Inn has limited, gated off-street parking. One complimentary parking space per room is provided based on availability. RVs, U-Hauls, moving vans, trailers or large trucks are not allowed. There is ample street parking most times of the year for visitors.

In House Restrictions

Sorry, but because the Inn is 175 years old, there are no candles, incense, coffee makers or cooking allowed in the rooms. All of our rooms are limited to single or double occupancy. No unregistered overnight guests are allowed in the rooms.

Viewing the Inn

We here at The Green House Inn love the house and enjoy showing it off. However, out of respect for the privacy of our guests, all viewings require a 24 hour advance appointment. The Green House Inn is a lovingly restored, classic New Orleans 1840 house-turned-B & B, which can be toured from 10am-4pm with advance notice.
